Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming team lost a non-conference dual match to Mount St. Mary's College-NY, at The APEX Pool, on Friday evening as the men's side dropped a 100-36 decision, while the women's squad fell 100-36.
The Lightning men were paced by
Romulo Valadez who finished first in the 50 Backstroke with a time of 30.57. Valadez also claimed gold along with Nelson Valette,
Adrian Townsend and
Joseph Fernandez in the 200 Freestyle Relay (2:07.18).
The Lehman women had Liberty Almanzar, Gisely Velez,
Amya Sanchez and
Mariella Nunez taking first place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay as they clocked in at 2:23.95. Also winning gold were
Meryem Alakus,
Xhesika Malecaj,
Shivani Raghuthu and
Mariana Cuevas as they had a time of 2:52.02 in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
The Lightning women will be back in action next Wednesday (November 12th) as they travel to take on Hunter College, in a CUNYAC match, at 6 pm ET.
