Lasana Camara notched a career-high 28 points for the Lehman College men's basketball team however it still dropped a key CUNYAC encounter on Wednesday evening to the hosts John Jay College, 90-85, at The Doghouse. The Lightning go to a 16-7 overall ledger and 10-2 in CUNYAC action, while the Bloodhounds improved to a 17-6 mark and 10-2 in conference play.
After Lehman held a one-point lead (33-32) with 3:24 remaining in the first half, John Jay went on a 14 to 5 run to take an eight-point advantage going into the intermission. The Lightning battled back in the second half and cut the Bloodhounds' lead to two points (83-81) with less than a minute remaining. However, John Jay outscored Lehman seven to four to closed out the game and held on for the victory.
Camara also grabbed 15 rebounds (double-double) along with three blocks for the Lightning on Wednesday evening, while forward
Kai Parris had 18 points and teammates
Francisco Demers and
Brandon Marks added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Lehman will be back in action on Saturday (February 15th) when it hosts its regular season finale against Hunter College, at The APEX Main Gym, with tip-off set for 3 pm ET.
