Bronx, N.Y. – Despite a 'double-double' (19 kills, 10 digs) from
Almir Pepic, the Lehman College men's volleyball team lost a CUNYAC match, 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25), to visiting John Jay College, at The APEX Main Gym, on Thursday evening. The Lightning go to a 5-1 overall record and 0-1 in conference play, while the Bloodhounds improved to a 6-1 mark and 1-0 in CUNYAC action.
After losing the first set, Lehman came back to take the second set. However, John Jay battled back and won the last two sets to take the match and hand the hosts its first loss of the season.
Emmanuel Cochran notched eight kills and four blocks for the Lightning, while
Christian Agudo dished out 35 assists and
Ray Rodriguez grabbed 21 digs.
Lehman is back in action on Tuesday (February 18th) when it hosts Saint Elizabeth University, in a non-conference match-up, at The APEX Main Gym, with first serve set for 6 pm ET.
