Heaven Figueroa's 31 points wasn't enough as the Lehman College women's basketball team lost its third consecutive CUNYAC encounter, 79-60, to hosts Baruch College, at the ARC Arena on Tuesday evening. The Lightning go to an 11-14 overall record and 7-7 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats improved to a 14-10 mark and 11-3 in conference play.
After Lehman jumped out to a 7-3 lead, Baruch went on an 11 to 3 run to take the lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back for the rest of the game.
Figueroa also grabbed nine rebounds, four steals and had two blocks for the Lightning, while forward
Emily Kennedy notched 18 points and seven boards.
The playoff bounded Lehman has the number five seeded in the upcoming CUNYAC Championships and will travel to take on #4-seeded John Jay College in the opening round set for this weekend.
