The CUNYAC released their post season men's basketball awards today with three Lightning players being recognized. Kai Parris was named a 1st Team All-Star, Lasana Camara was named a 2nd Team All-Star and Brandon Marks was recognized as the Sportsmanship Award winner.
Parris, leads the conference in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game and ranks third in rebounding (9.4rpg). The senior was a three-time CUNYAC Player of the Week. The Bronx native ranks second in the CUNYAC in field goal percentage (212-402 .527), seventh in free throw percentage and fifth in blocked shots.
Camara, ranks second on the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 11.3 poiints and 8.7 rebounds per contest. He has recorded eight double-doubles this season. He leads the team in blocked shots with 47 (third in CUNYAC) and ranks second in steals. Just last week, he was named CUNYAC Player of the Week.
Marks exemplifies leadership, integrity, and commitment both on and off the court. As a two-year captain of the Lehman College men's basketball team, he leads by example, fostering a culture of teamwork and respect. Beyond his contributions as a player, he serves as the Vice President of the Student-Athlete Academic Committee and represents Lehman athletics as a CUNY SAAC representative. Off the court, Brandon is dedicated to mentorship and community impact. As the founder and president of the Lehman College Sports Business Club, he helps students develop professionally and navigate careers in the sports industry. His passion for mentorship extends to his role as the head coach for the Bronx Hornets Special Olympics basketball team, where he leads weekly practices and travels to tournaments across NYC, making a lasting impact on his athletes. Brandon also excels academically, maintaining honor student status with multiple Dean's List honors.
