Old Westbury, N.Y. – For the first time in more than two decades, the Lehman College men's volleyball team commence its campaign with a perfect 5-0 overall record after defeating the hosts College at Old Westbury, in its season opener, 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-18, 25-19), in a non-conference match, at Clark Athletic Center on Tuesday evening.
After the Panthers claimed the second set (1-1), the Lightning posted consecutive victories in the third and fourth sets to win the match.
Almir Pepic led the Lehman offense with a 'double-double' as he had 12 kills and 13 digs, while
Emmanuel Cochran notched 10 kills and four blocks.
Christian Agudo dished out 26 assists, while
Ray Rodriguez grabbed 21 digs.
The Lightning will look to continue their unblemished record when they hosts John Jay College, in a CUNYAC match-up, at The APEX Main Gym, on Thursday (February 13th), with first serve set or 5:30 pm ET.
