Men’s Volleyball Ends Baruch’s 30-Match CUNYAC Regular Season Winning Streak

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team ended Baruch College's 30-match CUNYAC Regular Season winning streak on Thursday evening after defeating the defending conference champion in a five-set thriller (25-22, 25-27, 15-25, 25-17, 15-4) at The APEX Main Gym.  The Lightning go to a 14-7 overall record and 6-7 in CUNYAC action, while the conference regular season winners, Bearcats, fall to a 15-9 mark and 13-1.

After Lehman took the first set, Baruch struggled but bounced back to take the next two sets.  The Lightning came back and stunned the Bearcats taking the fourth set and the fifth to claim the match.  The Lehman victory was the first against Baruch in over 20 years.

Emmanuel Cochran led the Lightning offense with 16 kills, while Ray Rodriguez recorded eight kills and 14 digs.  Christian Agudo had a 'double-double' with 33 assists and 12 digs, while Oscar Calderon hit seven kills and Levi Rosario grabbed 16 digs.

Lehman will be back in action on Saturday (March 29th) when they travel to Madison, N.J. for a non-conference tri-match against Elizabethtown College and the hosts Drew University.
