Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team fell in three straight sets (12-25, 13-25, 19-25) to visiting St. Joseph's University-NY, in a non-conference match, at The APEX Main Gym on Friday evening. The Lightning go to a 1-6 overall record, while the Bears improved to a 3-5 mark.
After dropping the first two sets, Lehman jumped out to an early 8-3 lead in the third. However, the Bears went on a 22 to 11 run to claim the set and win the match, handing the Lightning their fifth consecutive loss.
Chloe Colon led the offense for Lehman with five kills, while Alanis Vasquez added four kills and eight digs. Ayah Hamdaoui earned another 'double-double' as she dished out 12 assists and grabbed 12 digs.
The Lightning will look to snap their current losing streak when they travel to Throggs Neck, N.Y. on Tuesday (September 23rd) to take on Maritime College, in a non-conference encounter, at 7 pm ET.
