Throggs Neck, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match in three-sets (14-25, 22-25, 15-25) to hosts Maritime College on Tuesday evening at Riesenberg Gymnasium. The Lightning go to a 1-7 overall mark, while the Privateers improved to a 5-4 record.

After losing the first set, Lehman took an early 4-2 lead in the second. However, Maritime went on a 23 to 18 run to take the second set and then won the third set to claim the match.

Alanis Vasquez led the Lightning offense with five kills and seven digs, while Cheyenne Gray-Taitt added four kills. Ayah Hamdaoui dished out 12 assists, while Laura Pinales grabbed eight digs.

Lehman is back in action on Thursday (September 25th) when it travels to take on Baruch College, in a CUNYAC match-up, at 6 pm ET.
