Bronx, N.Y. – A total of 39 service aces the Lehman College women's volleyball team hit on Monday during its three-set (25-2, 25-14, 25-10) non-conference victory against visiting Medgar Evers College at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning, which also snapped an eight-match losing streak, improved to a 2-9 overall record, while the Cougars dropped to an 0-8 mark.
After a two-set lead, Lehman had 25 aces against Medgar Evers. In the third set, the Lightning obtained 14 more to pace their victory.
Alanis Vasquez led the way for Lehman with 15 aces, while also notching three kills and five digs. Edith Oblitas registered 12 aces and was an assist shy (nine) of the 'double-double.' Cheyenne Gray-Taitt recorded four kills and Ayah Hamdaoui dished out eight assists with three kills.
The Lightning are back in action next Monday (October 6th) when it hosts Pratt Institute, in a non-conference match, at The APEX Main Gym, with first serve set for 7 pm ET.
