Farmingdale, N.Y. – A second-half tally from forward Cyrus Blake gave the Lehman College men's soccer team a 1-0 season opening victory against hosts Farmingdale State, in a non-conference encounter, at the Rams Field on Wednesday evening. The Lightning are 1-0 this 2025 campaign, while the Rams fall to 0-2.

After 75 minutes of action with both sides looking to get on the board, it was the visiting side that ended the scoreless mark as Blake notched the game-winner off an assist from midfielder Brandon Dennis.

The Lightning out shot the Rams 12 to 9, while goalkeeper Andres Barajas made two saves for his tenth career shutout. The victory was also the first for Lehman against Farmingdale State in the last four meetings since 2009.

The Lightning are back in action on Saturday (September 6th) when it opens the first of three-game home stand at South Field as it takes on University of Mount St. Vincent in a non-conference encounter with kick-off set for 2:30 pm ET.
