Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team opened the 2025 season by splitting non-conference home twin-bill at the APEX Main Gym on Monday evening as it lost in three-sets (18-25, 14-25, 12-25) to Purchase College and then defeated Yeshiva University in 3-1 (25-15, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23).
The Lightning (0-2) were paced by Cheyenne Gray-Taitt as she had three kills in the opener against the Purchase Panthers (1-3), while Alanis Vasquez grabbed nine digs along with two kills and Ayah Hamdaoui dished out eight assists and hit two kills.
In the nightcap against the Yeshiva Maccabees (2-2), Vasquez notched eight kills, while Kimarea Brown and Elainne Rojas Mesa posted five kills each. Hamdaoui registered 13 assists, while Edith Oblitas recorded 11 and Laura Pinales had eight service aces.
The Lightning return to action on Thursday (September 11th) when it hosts a non-conference match against University of Mount St. Vincent at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 6 pm ET.
