Patchogue, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming teams competed in a non-conference dual meet against St. Joseph's College (Long Island) on Monday afternoon. The Lightning women fell 174–45, while the men were defeated 152–28.

The Lightning were led by Amya Sanchez, who captured first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 30.01.  She also finished second in the 50 backstroke in a time of 34.10 as well as the 100 freestyle (1:08.45).

On the men's side, Joseph Fernandez earned a second place finish in the 50 backstroke and Mohammed Noori finished second in the the 100 freestyle. 

The Lightning will return to action on Wednesday, January 14, hosting a tri-meet against York College and Maritime College at the Apex Swimming Pool in Bronx, New York, starting at 6 ET.
