Bronx, N.Y. – Despite a 'double-double' (26 points, 11 rebounds) performance from guard
Heaven Figueroa, the Lehman College women's basketball team fell to visiting Hunter College, 78-74, at The APEX Main Gym, on Friday evening. The Lightning go to a 9-8 overall record and 4-2 in CUNYAC action, while the Hawks improved to a 12-5 mark and 5-1 in conference play.
After Hunter took an 11-point lead (44-33) into the intermission, Lehman bounced back in the third quarter as it outscored the visitors 24 to 19, to cut the deficit to six. In the fourth period, the Lightning continued to battle back and tied the encounter 70-70 with less than four minutes remaining. However, the Hawks went on an 8 to 4 run to close out the game and post its 14th consecutive victory against the Lightning in head-to-head meetings.

Isabela Araujo notched 14 points for Lehman, while teammates
Nelson Asamoah and
Emily Kennedy added 13 points and 10 points, respectively.
The Lightning will continue CUNYAC action next Wednesday (January 21st) when it travels to Manhattan to take on Baruch College at the Arc Arena with tip-off set for 5:30 pm ET.
