Lightning Make it Four in a Row

The Lehman College men's volleyball team earned a four-set victory on Saturday at The APEX, defeating University of Valley Forge (25-15, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19) in non-conference action.
Lehman (6-7) controlled the tempo early, capturing the first two sets with strong offensive attacks and strong plays at the service line. Almir Pepic led the way with a match-high 13 kills and 7 digs, while Alain Abreu Esteva added nine kills, 6 digs, and four service aces. Jordan Johnson chipped in eight kills, four aces and three total blocks as the Lightning dictated play through the opening match.
After Valley Forge (4-8) responded by taking the third set (21-25), the Lightning regrouped in the fourth to close out the match. Pepic continued to power the offense attacks, and Nathaniel Matthie led the attack with 23 assists and 7 digs. Defensively, Eric Lin anchored the back row with a team-best 12 digs, helping Lehman close out the match and secure the win.
The Lightning will look to carry the momentum into their next match against Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, NJ.
