Women’s Basketball Falter At Hunter

New York, N.Y. – Despite a 'double-double' (23 points, 11 rebounds) performance from guard Heaven Figueroa, the Lehman College women's basketball team ended its season with an 80-70 loss at Hunter College during the CUNYAC Championship Semifinals on Wednesday evening at the Sportsplex.  The Lightning finished with a 16-11 overall record, while the Hawks advanced to the CUNYAC Finals with a 19-7 mark.

After trailing by 10 points at the intermission, Lehman posted a comeback and midway through the fourth quarter had a 66-60 advantage over Hunter.  However, the Hawks went on a 20 to 4 run to close out the period and posted its 16th consecutive head-to-head victory against the Lightning.

Guard Emily Kennedy notched 13 points with eight rebounds and five steals for Lehman, while teammate Isabela Araujo added 12 points.
