Jersey City, N.J. – Despite nine kills and six digs from
Almir Pepic, the Lehman College men's volleyball team fell in three sets (17-25, 16-26, 17-25) to the hosts New Jersey City University, in a CUNYAC match, at the John J. Moore Athletics & Fitness Center on Wednesday evening. The Lightning go to a 1-4 overall mark and 0-1 in CUNYAC action, while the Gothic Knights improved to a 7-2 record and 2-0 in conference play.
After dropping the first two sets, Lehman jumped out to an early lead (3-1) in the third. However, New Jersey City went on a 24 to 14 run to win the set and the match.
Jordan Johnson notched seven kills for the Lightning, while
Nathaniel Matthie dished out 17 assists and grabbed six digs.
Lehman returns to action on Saturday (February 7th) when it travels to Washington, D.C., for a non-conference tri-match against Averett University and the hosts Gallaudet University.
