Washington, D.C. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday to Averett University (25-15, 20-25, 21-25, 19-25) and the hosts Gallaudet University (25-22, 18-25, 28-30, 19-25) at Field House.
The Lightning (1-6) opened the tri-match against the Gallaudet Bison (2-5) took the first set. However, the home side bounced back and won the next three sets to win the match.
Jordan Johnson led the Lehman offense with 14 kills, while
Almir Pepic registered a 'double-double' (12 kills and 13 digs).
Enea Doci recorded 10 kills, while
Nathaniel Matthie and
Eric Lin dished our 17 and 13 assists, respectively.
In the nightcap, the Lightning once again took the first set, this time against the Cougars (2-2). However, Averett rebounded by taking the next three sets and claim the match. Johnson once again paced the Lehman offense with 14 kills, while Linn had 20 assists and Matthie posted six kills and 12 assists.
Alain Abreu Esteva added 13 digs, while Pepic and Oscar Calderson hit five kills each.
The Lightning are back in action on Tuesday (February 10th) when it hosts CCNY, in a CUNYAC encounter, at The APEX Main Gym, with first serve set for 7 pm ET.
