King of Prussia, Pa. – The Lehman College baseball lost a non-conference twin-bill (4-2, 17-5) at Rosemont College on Sunday at the Upper Merin High School. The Lightning go to an 0-9 overall record, while the Ravens improved to a 5-6 mark.
After trailing 2-0, Lehman got on the board at the top of the second inning in the doubleheader opener. However, Rosemont got two more runs in the third and held off any late Lightning comeback for the victory. Infielder
Yojancel Almonte went two-for-three with a run scored for Lehman. Shortstop
Leniel Rivera also crossed home plate, while infielder Rinal Maldonado and outfielder
Argenis Sanchez each drove in a run.
In the nightcap, the Lightning jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the top of second, however, the Ravens notched three runs in the bottom of second to take a 5-4 advantage. Then, Rosemont added five runs in the third inning, six more in the fifth and another in the sixth for the victory. Outfielder
Daniel McCrink went three-for-four with a run scored and RBI for the Lightning, while designated hitter
Brandon Deynes and infielder
Damian Delgadillo drove in two runs each.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday (March 18th) with a non-conference encounter against Mount St. Mary's College-NY at South Field with first pitch set for 3:30 pm ET.
