Pomona, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team fell in a non-conference encounter, 17-11, to the hosts St. Joseph's University-NY, at Clover Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Lightning go to an 0-12 overall record, while the Bears improved to a 1-8 mark.
After Lehman took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, St. Joseph's-NY answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, then two runs in the second and third, respectively, for a 7-1 advantage and never trailed for the victory.
Outfielder Hecnel Guzman drove in three runs for the Lightning, while infielder Damian Delgadillo scored twice and had two RBI. Infielder Carlos Silfa crossed home plate three times and drove in a run, while teammate Yojancel Almonte registered two runs and an RBI.
Lehman will be back in action on Friday (March 27th) when it finally hosts its first CUNYAC home encounters as it faces Baruch College, in a twin-bill, at South Field with first pitch set for 3 pm ET.
