Lyndhurst, N.J. – The Lehman College baseball team split a non-conference twin-bill against the hosts Yeshiva University as it won the opener, 11-8, but then dropped the nightcap 9-0, at Breslin Field on Tuesday evening. The Lightning go a 3-19 overall record, while the Maccabees improved to a 1-17 mark.
In the opener, Yeshiva took a 7-4 lead, going to the top of the sixth, when Lehman scored six times to take the lead and eventually held for the victory to end a three-game losing streak. Shortstop
Damian Delgadillo went three-for-five with two runs scored and two RBI for the Lightning, while outfielder
Jediel Peguero had a homer with two runs scored and two RBI. Outfielder
Daniel McCrink was one-for-three with two RBI, while pitcher
DeShawn Ansah-Pena got the win on the mound.
In the nightcap, the highlight for the Lightning in the shutout loss were infielders
Nicholas Curiel,
Leniel Rivera and McCrink all recording one hit each.
Lehman is back in action on Friday (April 17th) when it travels to take on Baruch College, in a CUNYAC twin-bill, at Old Westbury, N.Y. with first pitch set for noon.
