Sanatoga, Pa. – The Lehman College baseball team posted a dominant 16-6 victory against hosts University of Valley Forge in a non-conference match-up at UVF Ballpark on Thursday. The win moved the Lightning to a 4-21 overall record, while the Patriots fell to 12-23 on the season.
Leading 3-1 after the first two innings, the Lightning offensive surge continued in the third. Lehman crossed the plate seven times in that frame alone to break the game open and pull away for the decisive win.
The Lehman attack was spearheaded by infielder
Steven Santos and designated hitter
Brandon Deynes, who each finished with three RBI. Outfielders
Daniel McCrink and
Jediel Peguero added to the tally with two RBI apiece, while teammate
Hecnel Guzman proved to be a constant threat on the basepaths, scoring four times. On the mound,
Jormy Polo tossed a complete game, recording four strikeouts to earn his first collegiate victory.
The Lightning will be back in action on Saturday (April 25th) with a morning start time of 9 am ET as it hosts CCNY, in a CUNYAC twin-bill, at South Field.
