Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team lost its regular season home-finale to CCNY, 19-5, in CUNYAC action, at South Field on Tuesday evening. The Lightning go to a 4-23 overall record and 2-8 in conference play, while the Beavers improved to a 14-16 mark and 7-2 in CUNYAC.
After CCNY took a 9-0 lead at the top of the fifth, Lehman attempted to get back into the game with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to four. However, the Beavers scored four more runs in the sixth and six in the seventh to pull away for the victory.
Outfielder
Daniel McCrink paced the Lightning offense going two-for-four with a run scored and two RBI, while designated hitter
Brandon Deynes drove in two runs while he was one-for-three and a run scored. Infielder
Damian Delgadillo was two-for-four with an RBI, while shortstop
Leniel Rivera went two-for-three with a run scored.
Lehman will conclude CUNYAC play on Saturday (May 2nd) when it travels for a twin-bill against John Jay College at Fordham University's Houlihan Park with first pitch set for noon.
