Bronx, NY – The Lehman College Athletic Department hosted its annual athletic awards dinner in the East Dining Room of the Music Building on the Bronx campus. Amar Ndiaye (men's basketball) took home the President's Award, the highest honor bestowed on a student athlete. Heaven Figueroa (women's basketball) was named the Female Athlete of the Year and Lance Brdaric (men's soccer) was named the Male Athlete of the Year.
Alain Abreu (men's volleyball) was named the Outstanding Senior while Isabela Araujo Gabriela (women's basketball) was named the department's Female Rookie of the Year and Marc Saint Hlaire (men's track & field) was the Male Rookie of the Year.
Also, Romulo Valadez (men's swimming) and Gisely Velez (women's swimming) were recognized as Scholar Athletes being the seniors with the highest-grade point averages.
Others receiving major awards included: Abena Abanka (women's track & field/volleyball) winning the Charlie Greenberg Memorial Community Impact Award, Kim Brown (women's volleyball) being named the Ed Kramer Memorial Humanitarian Award winner, Micah Dumberger (men's basketball manager) was the recipient of the Pedro Vialet Memorial Perseverance Award and Amariah Emanuel-Tyler (women's volleyball) was voted the winner of the Paula Soto Spirit of Athletics Award.
