Box Score Bronxville, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat against host Sarah Lawrence College in a non-conference match-up at the SL Courts on Thursday evening. With the result, the Lightning fall to 0-2 overall, while the Gryphons improve to 2-0.

Sarah Lawrence secured the crucial doubles point by taking two out of the three matches. Lehman's lone doubles victory came at the No. 2 slot, where the duo of Elizabeth Nlemchukwu and Fernanda Navarrete delivered a strong performance to defeat Serafina Panuccio and Isabelle Ng, 6-2.

The Lightning found success at the bottom of the singles lineup with two hard-fought victories:
•    No. 5 Singles: Mamie Kolley defeated Addison Chalmers in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
•    No. 6 Singles: Patricia Santiago-Montes won a thrilling pro-set encounter against Elena Valente, 9-7.

The Lightning will look to bounce back on Tuesday, September 15th, when they travel to Western Connecticut State for another non-conference matchup. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 pm ET.
