Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a straight-set non-conference match (19-25, 14-25, 18-25) to visiting Sarah Lawrence College on Thursday evening at The APEX Main Gym. With the loss, the Lightning move to 0-5 overall, while the Gryphons improved to 8-1.
After dropping the first two sets, Lehman battled back early in the third, pulling ahead for a 13-11 advantage. However, Sarah Lawrence responded with a decisive 14-5 run to close out the frame and secure the sweep.
Olivia Boothe led the Lightning attack with four kills, while
Alanis Vasquez contributed three kills alongside 10 digs.
Ayah Hamdaoui turned in another stellar all-around performance, anchoring the defense and offense with a double-double consisting of 12 assists and 15 digs.
Lehman returns to action tomorrow, Friday, September 18, when they travel to take on Purchase College in another non-conference match-up. First serve is scheduled for 6 pm ET.
