The Lightning men's soccer squad traveled to Doylestown, PA to battle the Aggies of Delaware Valley University falling 2-1 to the hosts.
Lehman got on the board early as Ashraf Abubakar jumped on a loose ball after the Lightning's first corner kick of the contest. Abubakar found the back of the net for the second time this season at the 6:36 mark. Twenty minutes later the Aggies got the equalizer as Zydan Stewart slipped one past Lehman goalkeeper Matthew Strainz. Less than a minute later DelVal's Gianluca D'Alterio put the Aggies on top off an assist from Stewart.
Lehman outshot DelVal 13-9 and had the advantage in corners 6-2. Both net minders were credited with three saves apiece.
The DelVal victory avenges a loss to the Lightning last season. During the 2025 campaign, Lehman defeated DelVal 3-2 on the South FIeld.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday night. The Lightning open up CUNYAC play with a 7 PM kick-off against Baruch. The game will be played at the MSU Soccer Park on the campus of Montclair State University.
