Lehman Drops Pair of CUNY Matches

An opportunity to make a statement in the CUNYAC went by the wayside on Monday afternoon as the Lightning dropped matches to Baruch and the City College of New York on the picturesque campus of Brooklyn College.

With the temperature inside the auxiliary gym making things uncomfortable for both teams, the Bearcats brought additional heat in taking the first set 25-10. Unintimidated by Baruch's 5-1 conference record entering the match, however, the Lightning did their best to counter but ultimately fell short as the Bearcats took the final two sets 25-17 and 25-20. In the losing effort, Gerri-Ann Martin tallied 10 kills while Lauren Hayden had 10 kills and eight digs for Baruch.

Despite cooler temperatures in match number two, Lehman could not get on track, losing to CCNY 25-11, 25-10, and 25-20.

The Lightning return to action Tuesday evening as they travel to Morristown, New Jersey to battle the College of St. Elizabeth at 7 p.m.
