Things Looking Up For Lightning Volleyball After Win

Following Tuesday night's volleyball match against host College of St. Elizabeth, Lehman head coach Wolfgang Lucena went to the deli and played the numbers 25 and 20.

Or at least he should have after his team came away with the three set victory in identical fashion, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

On the receiving end of many of setter Lisa Jagdeo's 16 assists, junior outside hitter Gerri-Ann Martin played like a woman possessed, slamming home 16 kills to go along with eight digs and two service aces. Vanessa Brown played another fine all around game with five kills, two service aces and seven digs while captain Jennifer Winkler led the team with 10 digs. Senior Lakeisha Gordon, who has seen an expanded role as of late, chipped in with two kills, one service ace and one block.

Lehman will rest up over the next few days before heading to Long Island to partake in the St. Joseph's Invitational beginning on Friday.
