Lightning Twice As Nice vs. Brooklyn and New Rochelle

Playing their third doubleheader in eight days, the Lehman women's volleyball team improved to 9-7 overall with wins over Brooklyn College and the College of New Rochelle on Friday evening.

In the first game of the night, Lehman needed four sets to dispose of Brooklyn, winning 25-15, 25-22, 14-25 and 25-22 behind the trio of Gerri-Ann Martin, Vanessa Brown, and Lakeisha Gordon. For the match, Martin finished with nine kills, Brown with eight and Gordon with seven respectively.

The second match of the night produced the same result for the Lightning, only one set shorter as they tripped up New Rochelle 25-19, 25-18 and 25-19. Martin and Brown were once again in the middle of the action with Martin totaling five kills and 13 digs while Brown posted eight kills. Sophomore Besa Zabelaj contributed five kills and five digs in the winning effort.

Lehman hits the road again for their next match, traveling to Sarah Lawrence College for a 4 p.m. showdown with the Gryphons on Saturday afternoon.
