QUEENS, N.Y. – At the National Tennis Center, the Lehman College women's tennis team played inspired in a 9-0 win over host St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn. Lehman is now 5-5 after the non-conference win, while SJC is 1-1.
Sophomore Nellya Blinova (New York, N.Y./Moscow, Russia) played superbly, not losing a point all afternoon. In doubles, she teamed with senior Ravnit Bhatia (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) to win 8-0, while she won her singles match 10-0.
Sophomore Mary Camano (Rosedale, N.Y./Humanities and the Arts) and freshman Cristie Peralta (Santo Domingo, DR / VEL San Jose Cagua (Venezuela)) also won their singles matches with 10-0 scores.
Lehman will travel to Brooklyn College on Wednesday, October 3.
