Volleyball Extends Win Streak to Four, Beats CNR and CMSV

BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team has now run its winning streak to four matches, by defeating the College of New Rochelle and the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Thursday, both by identical 3-1 scores. Lehman is now 13-12 on the season.

Against CNR, set scores were 25-22, 18-25, 25-17, 25-13. Sophomore Jo-Marie Aquino (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) paced the attack with 13 kills, adding 10 digs and five service aces. Classmate Cari English (Yonkers, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had 11 kills, while freshman setter Imani Dubois (Bronx, N.Y./J.P. Taravella) had 26 assists, 11 digs, and an amazing 7 service aces.

In the nightcap, set scores were 25-18, 16-25, 26-24, 25-22. Aquino had another double-digit kill effort, with 12. She added eight service aces. Dubois had 19 assists and 16 digs, while freshman Lisbeth Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) added 13 digs.

The Lightning continue with non-conference play on Saturday, October 20, travelling to Manhattanville's Kennedy Gym for a 1:00 p.m. match.
