Women's Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision to Manhattanville

Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team won the first set today at Manhattanville College, then dropped three straight, falling to the Valiants, 3-1. Set scored were 20-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-19. Lehman evens its record at 13-13, having its four-game winning streak snapped.

On the afternoon, sophomore Jo-Marie Aquino (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had a double-double with ten kills and 15 digs. Sophomore Julia Mercado (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had a game-high 23 digs, while junior Besa Zabelaj (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) had ten.

Sophomore Cari English (Yonkers, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had a team-high 11 kills, adding three total blocks. Freshman setter Imani Dubois (Bronx, N.Y./J.P. Taravella) had 27 assists and four service aces.

The Lightning will play its final CUNYAC match on Tuesday, October 23, at Hunter College. The match begins at 6:00 p.m.
