PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Lehman College women's volleyball team continues to fight hard, this time dropping a 3-1 decision at St. Joseph's of Long Island. Set scores were 25-15, 25-13, 20-25, 25-23.

On the evening, the Lightning (3-5, 2-1 CUNYAC) started slowly, rallied furiously, but could not overcome the deficit. Leading the attack was sophomore Cari English (Yonkers, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman), who had nine kills with no errors, hitting .562. She added four service aces.

Other major contributors included freshman Imani Dubois (Bronx, N.Y./JP Taravella), who had 17 assists and 13 digs, and sophomore Julia Mercado (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman), who had 12 digs.

The Lightning return to the friendly confines of the APEX on Saturday, September 15, hosting Cooper Union at noon.
