BRONX, N.Y. - The Lehman College tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to visiting Rutgers-Newark on Monday afternoon at the APEX.  R-N (3-5) got out to an early lead by winning two of the three doubles matches, and the Lightning (3-4) could not recover.

 The sole doubles win for Lehman came at first singles, where sophomore Nellya Blinova (New York, N.Y./Moscow, Russia) teamed with senior Ravnit Bhatia (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) and won 8-6.

Blinova also won at first singles in a dramatic third set, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7. The remaining Lightning win was by sophomore Patricia Cadet (New York, N.Y./Clara Barton) at #5 singles, 6-4, 6-3.

Lehman is in the midst of an eight-match home stretch, and will host Rutgers-Camden on Thursday, September 27 at 4:00 p.m.
