Lehman Volleyball Drops Season Opening Matches

Young Team Falls to Montclair State and Hunter

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FLORHAM, N.J. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team opened up the season tonight with matches against Montclair State University and Hunter College, and dropped both ends of the doubleheader 3-0. Game scores against MSU were 25-15, 25-12, and 25-11, while the Hunter game went 25-17, 25-3, 25-14.

Against Montclair, sophomore Jo-Marie Aquino (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) led the attack with nine kills. Freshman Imani Dubois (Bronx, N.Y./JP Taravella) and junior Besa Zabelaj (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) each had nine digs. In the nightcap with CUNYAC rival Hunter, Zabelaj led the way with team-highs of eight kills and 13 digs.

The Lightning (0-2, 0-0 CUNYAC) return to action tomorrow, Thursday, September 6, hosting William Paterson University at 7:00 p.m., in the Auxiliary Gym.
