Women's Volleyball Runs Win Streak to Four Straight With 3-0 Win Over Rutgers-Newark

NEWARK, N.J. – The Lehman College women's volleyball took to the road and cruised to a straight set win over host Rutgers-Newark, on Monday night. Lehman won, 3-0, with set scores of25-16, 25-19, and 25-16, to run its season record to 18-6 on the year. R-N fell to 7-13.

Lehman was never really challenged, as the Lightning hit .250 on the night.

Leading the Lightning attack was junior Jo-Marie Aquino (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman), who had 11 kills and four digs, while classmate Cari English (Yonkers, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had nine kills and three total blocks. Jessica Gonzalez (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Theatre) had a match-high 32 assists, as Julia Mercado (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had 21 digs.

Lehman has now won four straight matches, and will head to face the College of Staten Island on Thursday, October 24.
