Men's Basketball Drops Road Game at CCNY

Box Score

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team could not find its rhythm on Wednesday night, falling at CCNY, 57-44, in CUNY Athletic Conference action. With the loss, Lehman is assured of finishing no higher than eighth place in the CUNYAC, currently with a 2-12 conference record.

In a best case scenario, Lehman must win its remaining two games, while Hunter College, who Lehman swept this year, must lose its two remaining games. This would leave the two teams tied with four conference wins apiece, but Lehman would hold the tiebreak and advance into the upcoming CUNYAC/Con Edison Championships.

Today, CCNY and Lehman shot exactly the same from the floor, just 28.6%. The difference in the game came from the free throw line, where the hosts went 18-of-26, and Lehman went 11-of-22.

Junior Stanley Stephens (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) recorded another double-double, this time with ten points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Driton Hasangjekaj (Bronx, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton) led the team with 13 points.

Lehman will host Baruch College on Friday, February 8.
