BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis lost the 2013 season opener on Friday, 6-3, to visiting Yeshiva University.

YU (1-0) swept all three doubles matches, and held the early advantage. From there, the Maccabees and Lightning (0-1) split the six singles matches for the 6-3 final.

Lehman winners were junior Patricia Cadet (Brooklyn, N.Y./Clara Barton) at #2 singles, sophomore Neralda Zuniga (New York, N.Y./Dual Language & Asian Studies) at #5 singles, and classmate Danielle Buckley (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.) at #6 singles.

The Lightning will return to action on September 7, travelling to Patchogue, N.Y., to face St. Joseph's College of Long Island.
