Women's Tennis Rallies for 5-4 Come-From-Behind Win

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team won in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night, 5-4, over host John Jay College, in a match held at the USTA's National Tennis Center. Lehman was down 3-1 before storming back to earn the win.

Freshmen Kantomalala Rasedoara (Antananarivo, Madagascar/Newcomers) and Lynessa George (Bronx, N.Y./New Covenant Christian) were the sole doubles winners.

Moving into singles action, wins came from Rasedoara, George, and Jhanelle Mullings (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman), before senior Nellya Blinova (Moscow, Russia/Moscow High School No. 1) clinched the match with a thrilling 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 win.

Lehman has now won back-to-back matches, and is 2-5 overall, and 1-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. John Jay is now 1-7, 1-3 CUNYAC.

The Lightning continue the road swing with a match on Wednesday, September 25, at Rutgers-Newark.
