BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team dropped a tough, 5-4, decision to visiting Rutgers-Newark on Thursday afternoon, in non-conference action.

The Lightning (2-6) got off to a strong start, winning two of the three doubles matches.

As singles play began, sophomore Kantomalala Rasedoara (Woodside, N.Y./Newcomers) won at second singles, 6-4, 6-4, and junior Katherine Otero (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx H.S. for Business) won a three-setter at sixth singles, 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.

Lehman will travel to face Brooklyn College on Saturday, October 11, in the final CUNY Athletic Conference match of the regular season.
