BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team opened the 2014 spring season with a 7-2 non-conference win over visiting John Jay College on Monday afternoon.
After taking two of the three doubles matches, the Lightning (5-11) dominated John Jay (4-14) in singles action. Leading the way for Lehman was sophomore Desiree Allen (Montego Bay, Jamaica/Montego Bay), who earned her first college victory, winning at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
