BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 decision to visiting CCNY on Sunday morning.
CCNY (6-6) swept all three doubles matches to take the early advantage. Moving to singles play, Lehman (5-12) got wins from senior Nellya Blinova (New York, N.Y./Moscow HS #1) at first singles, 6-3, 6-1, freshman Lynessa George (Bronx, N.Y./New Covenant Christian) at second singles, 7-5, 4-6, 10-6, freshman Kantomalala Rasedoara (Antananarivo, Madagascar/Newcomers) at third singles, 6-2, 6-2, and junior Patricia Cadet (Brooklyn, N.Y./Clara Barton) at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-0. However, the Beavers took fourth and fifth singles to claim the match.
The Lightning will conclude the spring portion of the schedule with their final match, at Yeshiva University, on Wednesday, April 9, at 8:00 p.m.
