Netters Defeat St. Joes Bklyn

Harrison, NY....The Lehman Lightning defeated St. Joseph's (Bklyn) 5-4 to improve to 3-9 on the regular season. The match was contested indoors at Lifetime Fitness in Harrison, NY.

Lehman swept all three doubles matches as #1 team Lynessa George and Kanto Rasedoara defeated their opponent 8-2. The #2 doubles squad of Princess Roache and Natalie Carrasquillo blanked their opponent 8-0. The third team of Janet Garcia and Nadia Baba were awarded a victory in a walk over.

The singles matches were a different story. Lehman was awarded the sixth match via default. However, Lehman faltered at the number 1 and 2 singles as both Lynesse George and Princess Roache were pushed to three sets before succumbing (3-6, 6-2, 12-10 and 4-6, 6-0, 10-8). Garcia also fell in the fifth hole 6-2, 6-3. Carrasquillo also surrendered a three set match at the fourth spot. So all eyes fell on Kanto Rasedoara at third singles and he junior did not disappoint. She easily prevailed 6-0, 6-1 to secure the victory for the Lightning.

Lehman will conclude the season on Tuesday afternoon hosting Berkeley College at 3:30 PM on the Apex Courts.
