"I'm excited to have Courtney join the staff," commented Phillips.  "He knows Lehman and the CUNYAC.  He will be a great resource for our athletes."

Thomas got his start in coaching while still a student at Lehman.  He served as an intern under Coach Lesleigh Hogg and was a member of the staff that helped led the Lightning to the women's CUNYAC Championship.  He was instrumental in designing practices and a weight lifting program.

During the 2014-15 season Thomas was on staff at Hunter College primarily assisting with the jumps and hurdles leading Hunter to the CUNYAC Indoor Championship one year ago.  While with the Hawks he assisted in all aspects of the program.  Thomas was hired at Hunter College as an assistant coach for the 2014 indoor-outdoor seasons. An insatiable runner and trainer, Thomas brings over 15 years of experience to Hunter College. Thomas is a current Certified Level 1 track and field coach and member of USA Track and Field association.

Thomas was born and raised in the Bronx and still resides there today.
