Rodriquez and Miller named Lehman Athletes of the Week

Bronx, NY - Sophomore Gabriela Rodriguez of the women's swimming and diving team and senior basketball player Chaun Miller were named Lehman Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of December 7^th vs 13^th.

Rodriguez, also the CUNYAC Diver of the Week, won two events and scored 19 points in Lehman's 134-94 loss to defending conference champion Hunter College last Tuesday night. Rodriguez took the gold in the one meter diving (149.85) and then took another victory in the three meter event (106.65). She also swam a leg of the 200 yard free style relay.

Rodriguez and her team mates will be back in action on Friday evening as the Lightning hosts the Dolphins of CSI at 6:00 PM in the APEX swimming pool.

Miller was also named the CUNYAC/Army ROTC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 7^th through 13^th. The senior was a key contributor in a pair of conference victories for the Lightning. In an 81-65 victory over York, the Brooklyn native recorded his first double-double of the season scoring 20 points while grabbing a career high 15 rebounds. He was 6-10 from the field, 4-7 from behind the arc and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe. The Eleanor Roosevelt grad followed that up with an impressive performance in the battle for first place against Brooklyn College as he scored 14 points while grabbing nine rebounds. For the week he was credited with seven assists, two blocks and two steals.

Miller and his team mates are back in action on Wednesday night at Yeshiva University. Tip-off against the Maccabees is scheduled for 8:00 PM in the Stern Athletic Complex.
