Second Half of Conference Season Gets Underway Tonight

Bronx, NY - Midway through the 2015-16 season and the both the Lehman men's and women's basketball teams are looking to earn those converted byes in the CUNYAC post-season basketball tournament. 

The men's squad sits atop the league standings with an overall record of 12-4 and a 7-1 mark in conference play.  Lehman enters the contest winners of three out of their last four with a one game lead ahead of Brooklyn and Staten Island.  In their last outing the Lightning defeated Hunter 78-61.  Chaun Miller and Olando Minott combined for 41 points to lead Lehman.  Edwin Pascual and Andrew Utate each added double figures.

The Bloodhounds (2-15:1-7) have dropped their last seven.   This past weekend they stepped out of conference play and traveled to Bethlehem, PA to face Moravian College where they came out on the short end of an 82-69 decision.   In that contest, Essien Epps paced the Bloodhounds with 16 points while team mates Kiernan Hayes and Calvin Ingram netted 15 and 14 points respectively. 

Earlier this year, the Lightning defeated the Bloodhounds 94-85 in the Doghouse.

Men's Game Program

The Lehman women sit in third place with an overall record of 10-6 and a 5-2 record in the CUNYAC.  The Lightning split games this past week. Falling to Baruch and defeating Hunter 74-64 this past Friday night in the APEX.  Amely Del Rosario led the way with 27 points.  Karrin Walker added her fourth double double of the season and Yarmese Jones came off the bench to score 14 to secure the win. 

Earlier this year, the Lightning defeated the Bloodhounds 82-64 in the Doghouse. 

John Jay is coming off a 48-40 victory over York.  Terri Chu and Karen Rosario combined for 32 of the 48 points.  Rosario was also credited with a season high 15 rebounds.
