New York, NY – Lehman dropped a hard fought five set match to John Jay early in the day and followed that up with a straight set loss to Baruch.
The Lightning and Bloodhounds traded sets with John Jay coming out on top in the fifth and deciding set 18-16. Lehman won the opening set 25-21 but fell in the second 25-23. The Lightning rallied to take the third 25-16 but dropped the fourth 25-11.
Salveira Gonzalez led Lehman with 14 kills.
Lindsay Pantaleon added nine service aces.
Samantha Delgado was credited with 20 assists and
Yaidee Nieves recorded 16 digs.
Caitlin Vernon was credited with a season high four blocks.
In the nightcap, the Lightning were swept by the Bearcats, 25-9, 25-17, 25-16. Lehman was led by Gonzalez's six kills, Delgado had 11 assists and Nieves added 8 digs.
The Lightning are now 4-15:2-5 and have lost their last 12.
Lehman looks to snap the streak this week with a pair of non-conference home matches on Wednesday and Thursday against USMMA and the College of New Rochelle. Both matches will be streamed live with the first serve at 7:00 PM.
