Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team defeated non-conference foe FDU-Florham, 5-4, Tuesday afternoon on the APEX Courts.
The win helps extend the Lightning's season-best win streak (10-1) to nine games as they continue to climb the ranks of the CUNYAC.
On the singles side, Lehman would drop four out of the six matchups.
Lynessa George got the win in the No.2 doubles matchup, defeating Raven Dowling 8-6.
Leslie Juanacio also secured a singles win at the No. 6 spot due to a forfeit.
In doubles play, the Lightning swept all three of the matches.
Sacha Espiritu and
Lizaveta Markouskaya took the No. 1 match at 8-6, while George and
Kantomalala Rasedoara earned a 9-7 win in the No.2 spot. Juanacio and
Toyosi Adebayo grabbed a win due to a forfeit at the No. 3 and final doubles matchup.
Lehman will next face off on the road against Bard College, looking to extend their winning ways as the season hits the home stretch. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m. at Annadale-on-Hudson.
