Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team made a valiant effort throughout, but ultimately fell in straight sets to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, 3-0, Wednesday night at the APEX Center.

The Lightning (4-16) were led by Salveira Gonzalez, who slammed a team-high five kills along with four digs, a block and a service ace. Yzaira Galan added four kills, while Lindsay Pantaleon tallied two kills to go with eight digs and two aces. Setter Samantha Delgado collected nine assists in a losing effort.

Kayla Gleason topped the Mariners (11-6) with a game-best 11 kills, while Dominique Pope added eight kills, seven service aces and eight digs. Kate Lefler chipped in with seven kills while Kyleigh Kappas dished out 31 assists in the victory.

Lehman will return to action at home on Thursday night, when they host the College of New Rochelle. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. at the APEX Center. Live stats and streaming video will be made available at the Lehman Athletics website.
